Adrienne Douglass

Psychological
Services

Dr. Adrienne Douglass is originally from Marietta, Ohio and completed her B.A. in psychology and religion at Case Western Reserve University in 2001. She did her doctoral work at Wright State University’s School of Professional Psychology and completed her Psy.D. in 2006. Dr. Douglass completed her predoctoral internship at Arizona State University’s Counseling and Consultation prior to joining the Mason Counseling and Psychological Services staff in August 2006.

Dr. Douglass is eclectic in her approach to psychotherapy, but aims to develop a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship in which students experience unconditional positive regard. Dr. Douglass also focuses on emotional exploration, interpersonal process, and experiential learning as ways to empower students to come to better understandings of themselves. Dr. Douglass believes that it is through this increased self-awareness that students can begin to look at the changes they would like to make in their lives and in their relationships.

Dr. Douglass works with a wide range of concerns, but clinical interests include gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) issues, multicultural issues, women’s issues (i.e., body-image, self-esteem, etc.), anxiety, and relationship difficulties.
