  • George Mason University Positive Body Image Awareness Week/National Eating Disorders Awareness Week usually takes place in the last week of February. For a list of programs or to participate as volunteers, contact Judy Palmore, (703) 993-3690.
  • National Eating Disorders Screening Program usually takes place during the week of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week in February. Program includes a brief lecture, anonymous screening, and confidential one-to-one interview. Year-round screening and lecture presentations are available also. Call Fulin Lee, (703) 993-2380 for detailed information.
  • Healthy Fitness Assessment offered by the Aquatic & Fitness Center. Assesses physical fitness and provides exercise guidelines. Contact Adam Huffman, Fitness Coordinator, (703) 993-3936.

Free clinical assessment is available.

  • Fairfax County Community Mental Health Centers, Fairfax County, VA (703) 207-7730 or -7731 for appointments at Woodburn Community Mental Health Center, Falls Church, VA, and referrals to other centers throughout the county (703) 573-5679 after-hour emergencies and mobile crisis unit Provides assessment, individual, group and family counseling, psychiatric services on a sliding scale mainly for those who do not carry health insurance. Has a 24-hour emergency service. An agency of Fairfax/Falls Church Community Services Board.
