Nazli Fouladi is an Iranian-American who has lived in Maryland since the age of 16. She completed her BA in Fine Arts and Biology from Trinity College in Washington, DC in 1993. Prior to becoming an intern at Mason, Ms. Fouladi’s clinical experience included working for two years at the Pimmit Counseling and Wellness Clinic located in Virginia and the Washington Medical Group which is located in Maryland. During this time she worked with a diverse population and treated a variety of clinical issues including depression, addiction, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorder, anxiety, closed head trauma rehabilitation, pain management, bereavement, and cultural adjustment.
Ms. Fouladi has an eclectic therapeutic style as she believes that the therapeutic process should be tailored to each clients specific needs. She uses unconditional positive regard and a safe environment as grounds for a therapeutic relationship. This creates an opportunity where each client’s life experience and personal story can be shared and honored. Ms. Fouladi also believes that personal growth can occur at any point in our development and is facilitated through emotional exploration, experiential processing and empowerment.
Ms. Fouladi’s clinical interests include working with issues relating to post-traumatic disorder, cultural adjustment, family, relationship issues, and couples therapy. On a personal level, she enjoys various arts activities such as sculpting with clay and paining. She also enjoys going to the museum and the performing arts.
