Justin Massey

Psychological
Services

Justin M. Massey comes to George Mason University’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) from Philadelphia, PA, where he has been working on his doctorate in clinical psychology.  Originally from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, he has come to CAPS to complete his pre-doctoral internship. He brings with him experience working with eating disorders, including a sixteen-month externship at The Renfrew Center of Philadelphia.

Justin strives to create an environment where each student feels safe discussing whatever is on his/her mind.  He uses both cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal approaches to help students come to a greater understanding of how current and past relationships have shaped the way they think about themselves, and how these thoughts assist or interfere with them reaching their personal goals.

Justin’s primary interests include disordered eating and negative body image, transition to college life, and psychological testing/assessment.
