Myers-Briggs Type Indicator


The Self-Development Center provides a media library of personal growth and academic skills programs available to students, faculty, and staff at George Mason University. Media programs may be used in the Self-Develoipment Center during the hours the Center is open. Faculty and staff at GMU may check out programs overnight or over a weekend. Students may check out programs to use for classroom or group presentations. These programs are not for sale or rent to persons outside of the University. If the program is marked with an asterisk (*), ask the receptionist for the handout or written materials that accompany it.

Personality and Stress (90 min.)
From a seminar for instructors of type theory, this tape connects MBTI theory with rational emotive theory to help you understand and control stress. (audio)

Keirsey Temperament Sorter (10 min.)
This is a modified version of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator adapted from the book Please Understand Me by Keirsey & Bates. Your answers will show how you like to look at things and how you make decisions. Knowing your preferences can help you better understand yourself. Listen to the tapes in the Type Communication series for more information or make an appointment with a counselor who can help you to better understand the results of the questionnaire. These 5 tapes answer some of the most frequently asked questions about the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, covering such topics as type basics, caveats on type, descriptions for extroverts and introverts, etc., and ways different types relate. (audio)
Stress and Type (60 min.)
A humorous and energetic presentation of the use of type and rational emotive therapy concepts in stress management. Useful to the counselor, educator, or anyone working with stress management. (audio)
