Psychological
Services

Ms. Singh has lived in Northern Virginia most of her life. However, he attended Naropa University in Boulder, CO, a small liberal arts college where she learned Eastern and Western traditions of psychology, holistic expression, and methods creative arts therapy. In her senior year of college Ms. Singh had an internship at Boulder County Social Services. Here she worked with elementary age youth doing a combination of psychoeducation and group counseling of family and school violence prevention skills. This experience inspired Ms. Singh to work with youth.

Ms. Singh has worked at the preschool, elementary, middle school, high school, and community college levels. She enjoys mentoring and helping students find their potential. Ms. Singh believes in a strength based approach. Everybody has strengths that make them uniquely who they are. Challenges can be overcome by changing one’s perspective followed by making plans for change.

Issues of interest are multicultural identity, bicultural identity, how issues of social adjustment impacts academics, overcoming academic challenges, overcoming motivation issues, and how personality and interests are related to possible majors and career choices.
